India vs Bangladesh - Match Preview

After so much of wait,finally the ICC World Cup 2011 will kickstart tomorrow with the two of the host nations India and Bangladesh locking horns with each other.India are being looked as favorites for this world cup,but the Bangla tigers are considered as real dark horses as they are playing their matches at much familiar home venues.




India have faired very well in the two warm up maches that they have played with almost all the players making a contribution.Yusuf Pathan,Piyush Chawla,Ashwin,Sehwag performed well in the first match and Gambhir,Raina,Dhoni,VIrat Kohli performed very well in the second match.The only concern for team India was that the pace battery of the team didn't performed in either of the matches.


On the other hand Bangladesh's performance in the two recently concluded warm up matches was hot and cold.They were right up to the mark against Canada,defeating them comprehensively by 9 wickets but themselves played poorly and got beaten by huge margin of 88 runs.


Team India will also look to take revenge of what Bangladesh did to them in the 2007 world cup,that time Bangladesh beat team India and India were not even able to qualify for the next round of the world cup!


Starting Probables for team India:

Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (Capt.), Yusuf Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ashish Nehra and Zaheer Khan.


Reason-I think India have got a few selection headaches as they are in a fix over two positions.I included Virat Kohli over Suresh Raina as Kohli has been consistent in his performances,but Raina got his form back in the warm up match against New Zealand.Moreover I chose Ashwin over piyush chawla as there are many left handers in the Bangladeshi playing 11 so Ashwin will turn the ball away from left handers,also Aswin can bat better than Chawla

Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Junaid Siddique, Mohammad Ashraful, Shakib Al Hasan (Capt.), Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Naeem Islam, Abdur Razzak, Rubel Hossain and Shafiul Islam.

Venue: Dhaka,Bangladesh.


Predictions : Keeping in mind the Explosive and dangerous batting line up of team India and also their blistering recent form I think the safe bet is team India.But as we know Cricket is a game of glorious uncertainties Bangladesh can spring a surprise too.
