Sri Lanka Team Song for Cricket World Cup 2011 Launched

Sri Lankan pop singer Lahiru Perera on Monday launched his Sri Lanka team song for the Cricket World Cup 2011. The song is titled “Enna”, literally translated into English as “Come on everyone!”. The song invites all Sri Lankans (with the salutation “Enna”) to come on over and flock together to witness the Sri Lanka team defeat the entire world, to win the ‘cup that matters’. Song is written with both Sinhales (Enna) and Tamil (Waanga) language.

Song uses a fusion of pop music and traditional Sri Lankan “Paparey Baila” music, which is quite commonly associated with Sri Lankan cricket.

Fans welcomed the song warmly, with the song reaching top charts of several local radio stations in the island nation, within just 48 hours of it’s release. The producers of the song are planning to launch the official music video of the song before the start of World Cup.
