No Mashrafe in Selector Committe Squad

Bangladesh Cricket Board's 3 member Selector committee skipped Narail Express Mashrafe Bin Mortaza in their 15-man squad yesterday as they handed over their squad to board officials. But still Mash has a chance to get it as Bangladesh delayed the announcement of their final World Cup squad until January 19.
Bangladesh officials believe there are still some issues they needed to discuss including the injury status of paceman Mashrafe.

The three-member selection committee placed a squad to the technical evaluation committee of the BCB on Monday, but it did not get the final approval.
‘We still need to be clear about some issues. Mashrafe is of course one of them. We also have some other issues pending for discussion. So, we have deiced to wait until the final day of the ICC deadline,’ committee chairman Enayet Hossain Siraj told reporters.
The BCB officials still have some doubts over the chance of former skipper Mashrafe regaining his fitness before the tournament starts.
Mashrafe, who injured his knee during a domestic match last month, recently resumed his batting practice but is unlikely to start bowling until next month.
‘We need to know about his medical conditions. We also need a day to assess his medical reports, which is one of the major reasons for delay,’ said Siraj.
Siraj also said that they need Mashrafe to become fit by February 8; otherwise it will be tough for them to convince the ICC for a replacement.
‘The rule is that we can replace any player until February 8. After that we have to take an approval from the ICC for any replacement,’ he said.
Sources said that Mashrafe was not in the 15-member squad provided by the selectors as initial medical suggested it might take him weeks to regain his match fitness.
Apart from a ruling by the BCB president AHM Mustafa Kamal, who will give the final approval, it is unlikely for him to get the nod, said sources.
Bangladesh Fans are keen to see their MASH in the team and to lead from the front. This is going to be a tension period for them. Seems like, WC 2011 is already dancing in Bangladeshis Soul.

Probable Squad: Sakib al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Shahriar Nafees Junaed Siddique, Mohammad Ashraful, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Naeem Islam , Sohrawardi Shuvo, Abdur Razzak, Shafiul Islam, Nazmul Hossain and Rubel Hossain.
