The ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 works in a slightly different format to the previous three world cups. This time in the Cricket World Cup match schedule, there is no super six or super eight round.
Instead, the tournament schedule works with one group stage round and two knockout stages prior to the final.
Cricket World Cup 2011 – Group A
The group A of the 2011 Cricket World Cup consists of seven teams. These seven teams will play against each other in this initial group stage of the tournament schedule. Four top teams will be qualified from this group, to be included in the first of the knockout round; the quarterfinals.

Cricket World Cup 2011 – Group B
The group B of the 2011 Cricket World Cup consists of seven teams.
